After your application has been received, a card will be mailed to you with the dates of the upcoming volunteer orientations. You must complete one volunteer orientation before you can start volunteering.

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts reflect your support and help ensure the continual development and financial stability of your zoo as an institution helping to create a sustainable future for wildlife.

General Bequest »: Is for a dollar amount of property, usually cash: "I give the NEW Zoo, Green Bay, Wisconsin, or any successor organization thereto, the sum of $100,000..."
Specific Bequest »: Directs a recipient to receive a specific piece of property: "I give to the NEW Zoo, Green Bay, Wisconsin, or any successor organization thereto, 100 shares of XYZ stock..."
Residual Bequest »: Designates all or a portion of whatever remains after all debts, taxes, expenses and other bequests have been paid: "I give the NEW Zoological Society, Green Bay, Wisconsin, or any successor organization thereto, sixty percent (60%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate..."
Please note that your bequest may be used for a particular purpose, for current needs, or an endowment. Because a gift is revocable, there is no immediate income tax deduction, but your gift will be deductible from your taxable estate. Please consult with your attorney when writing your will in order for your wishes to be clearly articulated.
Gifts of Life Insurance »: Are another type of planned giving. Simply designate the NEW Zoological Society as the beneficiary of a policy's proceeds. You can also contribute a policy you already own but no longer need, or purchase a new one as your gift. If you have other assets you would like to contribute, you may wish to obtain life insurance to replace the value of those assets for your heirs.
