Zooper Bowl

It is clear to staff, volunteers and visitors at the NEW Zoo in Green Bay, Wisconsin, that the animals are picking up on the extra excitement in the air as Superbowl XLV approaches.
Green and Gold Theme
Carmen Murach, Curator of Animals for the facility explained, “The zoo’s behavioral enrichment program ensures that life is always interesting and enjoyable for the animals. This week, the fun has taken on a Green & Gold theme. Animals representing many nations-who call Green Bay home-are enthusiastically embracing Packer Fever. The monkeys are tossing footballs, the wolves are intercepting passes, the giraffes are sporting team colors - even the reptiles are investigating Packer paraphernalia.”
Our Lions Will Tackle Roethlisberger!
Murach when on to say, “It often surprises visitors to see African lions outdoors in the wintertime but cats born and raised on the frozen tundra develop thick wooly fur coats. Although they always have the option of staying inside their heated building, the NEW Zoo lion pride loves to romp through the snow, even in sub zero temperatures.” Later this week, the lions are expected to tackle and demolish a paper mache replica of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. “He may be “Big Ben” to some, but we’ll see how he fairs when faced with a pride of ferocious lions!”
